Opened in April of 2004, The Kitchen is a community bistro located in historic downtown Boulder, Colorado. Our menu evolves seasonally and reflects the simple and straightforward preparation of comfortable classics. Housed in a historically preserved space, the restaurant is light with clean lines and a timeless aesthetic. Our commitment to sourcing local and quality ingredients helps to achieve a sustainable and "connected" restaurant. We are open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The Kitchen [Upstairs]

Opened in November of 2005, the [Upstairs] is a relaxed wine and beer lounge, open seven days a week. Rustic food is prepared in a wood-fired oven and complements the thoughtful and wide-ranging drink list. (The cellar houses 750 labels of wine and 50 labels of beer.) The space is intimate and chic and offers bar and low table seating. A daily "Tasting Hour" features inexpensive bites and sips of the season and a monthly beer and wine education series occurs on the third Tuesday of each month. Click here to learn more

Eco Practices

We believe that being "green" transcends any current hype or fad. We simply believe it is the right thing to do for our community, at home and at large. We make conscientious decisions about every aspect of our operations, from the hand towels in the bathroom to the wind-power generated electricity we use. We recycle and reuse nearly 100 percent of our "discards".  All of our paper products and straws are biodegradable. We give the remaining uncooked food and open bottles of wine to our staff at the end of each shift and all of our food scraps are made into compost, often returning to the farm where they were first harvested.
